Meet The Soul of the Project by Minotti at Salone del Mobile 2018 – Only a few hours apart from the biggest and most expected design celebration in Italy, Milan Design Week, the leading Italian furniture brand, Minotti, that is celebrating its 70 years of success, is launching a series of videos telling the behind-the-scenes story about some of their most iconic furniture designs. Entitled “The Soul of the Project“, the first part will feature the extraordinarily comfy, Colette Armchair, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni. The main focus of this project is to narrate the making of and the inspirational process of a specific product or project, aiming to make visible the invisible.
This astonishing armchair was inspired by the iconic period of mid-century elegance. Its complex design masterfully combines experimentation in the design of shapes with sophisticated decorative taste.
The external structure in metal is calendared. The special metallic finish is achieved through galvanization in a white-gold bath, followed by application of a transparent protective coating that lends durability and depth.
In order to guarantee the utmost levels of comfort, the structure of the seat terminates at the front in a support structure and is made of polyurethane foam with metal insert and elastic straps. These are perfectly moulded to the structure due to the contoured seat cushions and seat back.
From 17-22 April, Minotti will be presenting its newest collection at Salone del Mobile, in Hall 7, Stands E15/E27/F18/F20. This year, Rodolfo Dordoni will once again coordinate the collection, however designers, Christophe Delcourt, Marcio Kogan and Nendo are also a part of this eclectic collection, so make sure to visit their stand which will be all about new conceptual philosophies regarding the future.
