2. FLOATING HOME
Moored in a beautiful and tranquil spot in a typically Dutch landscape, the houseboat is surrounded by open water on three sides with uninterrupted views to the horizon. The client wanted a minimalist look with a simple ambiance and character, in keeping with the landscape. With that in mind, designers opted for a striking box-shape, finished in black-stained red cedar. Despite strict building regulations dictating its height, they were able to realize two floors: the bedrooms and basement lie below the waterline.
3. FIFTH AVENUE APARTMENT
The clients owning this Fifth Avenue apartment stumbled upon the eponymous book of Piet Boon quite by chance. His style perfectly suited the mood they had in mind for their luxury home in the heart of New York City, overlooking the city’s biggest garden: Central Park. After meeting with the clients, Piet Boon presented the first plans for this challenging renovation: owing to strict regulations of the exclusive building, everything had to be completed within four months.
