Artery Residence: A Modern Architecture Home In Kansas City – For these two prominent contemporary art collectors and owners of this incredible ultra-modern house, “Home is where the art is“! This custom residence was designed by Hufft, and the result is something incredible. It’s like living in an art gallery!
The team of designers from Hufft were responsible for fulfilling the dream of two contemporary art collectors in Kansas City, Missouri. For their home sweet home, they wanted to build a new house, with modern architecture, to exhibit their big collection of art, that includes paintings, photography, and sculpture. To incorporate a 20 years selection, the couple wanted a sub-grade gallery space, just like in a real museum. This is was going to be the heart of the home, with proper lighting and climate control to display it. While a good portion of the art resides in the gallery, the rest is displayed in the other hallways and atriums, or “arteries”, the word that inspired the name of this modern house (Artery Residence).
In the gardens, we can admire their large-scale segment of artwork with incredible sculptures installed in the natural environment.

The interior design of the non-gallery part of this modern home is quite promising! The rooms are decorated with a contemporary style, including rich materials, contemporary furnishings, and additional artwork.
You can also see their incredible collection when you are passing by the double-height atrium nodes that connect the gallery and living spaces. These art circulation paths are considered the “arteries” that inspired the residence’s name.
