This collection is the latest and the most dynamic work created by Spanish artist Maximo Riera with over thirty years of artistic career background. The artist managed to bring alive in a very unique and original manner and give personality to something common like a chair, creating a virtual connection between human-being and animals.
The Animal Chair collection constitutes a diverse range of species, from mammals to reptiles, and even including insects. Each creation retains the animal’s natural vitality whilst being totally biological accurate in their appearance. It’s homage to these animals and the whole animal kingdom which inhabits our planet, as an attempt to reflect and capture the beauty of nature in each living thing, reminding us to protect the endangered species.
Among the home decor trends 2013 are animal prints, floral and striped patterns, earthy textures and colors including natural wood, bamboo flooring and stone. High gloss lacquer and the popular chevron patterns are also among the latest home design trends. We are seeing exotic decor, tribal prints and ethnic embroidered fabrics.
Described as a long and challenging adventure, the process, which allowed to accomplish such splendid detail accuracy and genuine silhouettes, consisted in sketches that were turned into three-dimensional digital images, through a computer modeling software and then the sculptures were made using one of the most vanguard sculptural techniques available at present. So, due to this cutting edge technology blended with expert craftmanship, each creation showcase the highest quality execution and is available in a limited edition in order to preserve the exclusive nature of the piece.This process includes three-dimensional computer modeling, a CNC milling machine, an internal frame, as well as over 30 professionals for the entire project. .

Máximo Riera has been a practicing artist for over thirty years. Whilst predominantly working
in photography, painting and sculpture, he has also published a collection of poetry. Inspired by
his travel and experiences through Europe and the Caribbean Islands, Máximo’s vibrant use of colour and evocative attention to detail, have been an inspiration which convey the meaning of his creations. His work also demonstrates a predominant influence from abstract expressionism and the Pop Art movements.
Even though his artistic career was relegated to a secondary role due to his professional life in
the medical industry, Máximo still organized several exhibitions and events for his work, with all proceeds going to charity.
Born in Asturias, Northern Spain, Máximo has now retired to his studio in Cadiz, where he paints and sculpts each day.
