Chicago Has A New Hotel With Contemporary Design – The Chicago-based studio with over 23 years of experience is specialized in innovative space that results in the combination of multiple materials and details. Their latest interior design project is one of the runners of the Covet International Awards by the Covet Group.
Dwayne MacEwen from DMAC Architecture is the head designer of the new contemporary design project in Chicago. This hotel project is one of the contestants of the Covet International Awards 2018, that as you know, is one of the best design competition in the world.
Dawyne MacEwen, founder of this is design firm, is recognized for introducing the functionality concept in all of his projects, whether they are architecture, interiors, product, or furniture design. You can see their work not only in Chicago, their hometown but also in New York to London, Barcelona, Miami, and Montreal.
Their latest hotel design project is located in the Midtown of Chicago, Illinois. The 3,300 sqm design project has 55-room and a fitness center, providing to the travelers a contemporary experience during their stay in the hotel.
The Midtown Athletic Club and Hotel project is part of a 54,000 sqm development, which is going to transform what was the largest indoor tennis club in the country to the largest contemporary lifestyle center in the USA.
In the creative process of the project, both the interiors and exterior area, the interior designer was inspired by the simplicity of human interaction, that’s why he wanted to make sure that every detail is considered a part of the human experience.
All of the hotel bedrooms are decorated with artwork and custom finish furniture. The floor and ceilings were transformed with a custom wallpaper that defers to the urban context and appears like an abstract painting behind the bed.
The client also wanted to incorporate a room specially dedicated to the tennis icon, Venus Williams, so Dawyne MacEwen designed one suite and a new tennis lounge in order to make sure that the client’s needs were fully satisfied.
The hotel guests can enjoy all of the Club’s benefits as they were one of its members. From the group classes at the boutique studios, like the Yoga, Pilates, group fitness, multimedia Spinning, and Boxing, to the custom amenities such as access to signature Restaurant, indoor and outdoor Pools, a Spa and a full-service Salon, this contemporary hotel looks something promising to the Chicago city.
