The Kyoto company Alphaville has created this stunning and creative diamond-shaped house. The faceted building works as a studio for a painter and designer, and also as a house for the couple and their son.
According to the Alphaville creators, this house was conceived has a place where the couple can exhibit their work as a gallery, to host parties and simultaneously where they can spend the day with their son.
The wavy metal cladding overlays the angular roof structure and two of the facades. On the other side, the wide windows inserted in the two trapezium-shaped gables provide brightly illumination to the interior area.
The property was named as Skyhole, based on the small triangular skylight placed in the centre of the folded roof.
The interior of the house is divided into 3 distinct areas: living room, studio and bedrooms.

A narrow passageway cuts through the bedrooms, linking the living area with the studio space and allowing light to reach the core of the building.
In one side of this passageway is possible to find the kid’s bedroom, a storage area and the shop. On the other side there is the master bedroom and bathroom.
