The Interior Design Project Behind The Forest By K Boutique – Inspired by nature, the interior designer and director of Aravia Design Limited created a unique design project for a little flower boutique in the mid-hill area in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong!
In the interior design project, Chan Ching Kan wanted to add relaxed and welcoming vibes so that there would be a connection with the local community through the elegance of natural elements, such as flowers, an element that adds fragrance and vitality to space. Kan studied at the University of Hong Kong, University College London and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he received the Best Studio award.

His work has been distinguished in ACAU and ARCASIA in the Asian Region, UCL in the UK as well as in the HKU and HKIA in Hong Kong. His master thesis was nominated for RIBA president awards. From China, Hong Kong, and Africa all the way to the UK, the interior designer has some design projects spread all over the world.
The interior design from the nature-inspired flowers boutique has the purpose to highlight the traditional florists’ artwork, introducing them into the online sales market as master artisans in the art of flower arrangements. The interior architect believes that a simple flower arrangement can transform a simple spacial experience in a long run rather than a decoration for temporal visual pleasure. The main idea is to bring a sense of nature through a specific choice of materials and finishes so that the design project has a certain balance.

Because it is a small space, the interior designer picked some functional and innovative furniture designs so that the person who enters the store doesn’t have that feeling of a messy room. To appeal to the nature theme, and to the owner craft, Chan Ching Kan also placed different flower arrangements hanged in the ceiling, so that the store was a presentable experience in every sense!
