The Latest Exotic Design Project By The French Flint Agency- The design of the new Jim Thomson shop in Bangkok is one of the runner-ups for the Covet International Awards 2018, organized by the European design company recognized as Covet Group.
Created by Christophe Gautié and Véronique Tastet, founders of the French design studio called Flint Agency, the exotic design project of the new Jim Thomson Shop was inspired by the tropical landscape and the quiet intimacy of the Thai culture and costumes. Since 1995, the French design studio is focused on accepting all types of the design fields and scales being in the urban and territory sphere as well as one of the buildings and interior architecture.
The 550sqm shop of Siam Paragon Mall, in Bangkok, seems like a modern tropical garden that features a pleated green silk curtain background that contrasts with the golden shelves supporting objects. Also in the curtain, you can find some thick doors open onto a series of alcoves and dressing rooms.
These intimate rooms were built in dark wood tones, green recesses, golden sparks, in an oriental and occidental style, which hold ranges of clothes or accessories. The main entrance glassed doors allow the public to see the garden like atmosphere and space where the stand out is Jim Thomson’s latest creations.

As you can see through the walnut walls or the tropical wallpaper, the “garden” concept is the base for all of the detailed alcoves of the space, like the ready-to-wear clothing Women and Men, Accessories and Home Design.
Whether it is Thai dancers’ hands, some stuffed parrots or openwork Chinese lanterns, in every space of the store there is a golden detail that reminds us of the South-East Asia culture. Several golden tables, designed by Rush Pleansuk, a Thai designer, highlights the store’s home design section.
