The Covet International Awards 2018 submissions ended up on the past 15 December, however, the Best Design Projects team still has many interior design creations (that applied to the Covet Group design contest) to show you! The mastermind of the modern design that we can see in this luxury house in Toronto, is Nathalie Tremblay, lead interior designer of the Atelier Cachet studio.
Besides working on the multi-disciplinary firm as a lead interior designer, Nathalie is an award-winning professional well-known for her couture interiors. Before discovering her passion for the decoration world, she as a former choreographer and artistic director, born in Quebec City.

Tremblay’s design style moves along asymmetrical lines. L-shapes, horizontal lines and stripes are her signature lines along with balanced color contrast, sumptuous textures and custom-made furniture. Every interior design project that she creates evoke raw, emotional power.
The client of this modern design project is the owner of several car dealerships in Ramsey Lake, Sudbury, a city located in the north of Toronto. The couple hired Atelier Cachet to create the interior design of their 1300m2 house that would suit their family lifestyle. The modern home took 3 years to be built and has 7 baths, 4 powder rooms and 7 bedrooms including 140m2 of terraces, an infinity edge pool and spa.

The mission was to create a Boutique Hotel look and feel since it was a clear expression of the couple’s personality, energy and luxury lifestyle. The design project had to be modern, with clean lines and maximum comfort. Strong architectural elements, as well as custom-made pieces by master artisans, were incorporated throughout the modern home to create the ultimate in luxury living.
The home is surrounded by stunning views facing the lake including a soaring double-height, glass window wall. The main floor has a custom hotel-like 8-foot fireplace clad with marble. Polished Italian porcelain flooring, 7-inch wide, oak plank hardwood is present in the custom kitchen with Miele appliances and stone countertops. Large islands and a breakfast bar are adjacent to the modern dining space with a wine cellar enclosed in glass.
This is considered a “smart” home since it features the most up-to-date technology operated from any mobile device. The black and white master suite features a private deck, lounge area, his and hers walk-in closet and spa-like ensuite.
In this modern spa, you can find a massive soaking tub, full steam shower, body jets, rain heads, aromatic waterfall, and double set sinks. The cherry on top of the cake is in the upper basement where is an incredible family room with home theatre, billiard table and lounge zones.
